INGREDIENTS

  • 375g Butter
  • 375g dark chocolate
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 250g brown sugar
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 225g cream flour
  • 300g chopped walnuts or hazelnuts

METHOD

SERVES FOUR PEOPLE

  • Place butter and chocolate in a large bowl and place over a saucepan of water. Once melted allow to cool
  • Beat eggs and sugar and vanilla until thick and creamy
  • Sieve salt and flour into a bowl
  • Add chocolate mixture to eggs and fold gently
  • Then fold in the flour carefully
  • Fold in walnuts
  • Pile into greased lined tin and scatter favourite biscuits or white chocolate chips on top
  • Bake in centre oven 170C for 25 mins
  • Test with skewer and try not to over bake
  • Leave to cool and then cut with knife dipped in boiling water
